SIMON J., age 85, on October 18, 2014. Husband of the late Claire A. (nee Burns); father of Marie (Jim) Feeney, Eileen, Joe and Beth (Richard) Janyszek; brother of John, Alice Grabowski, Peggy O'Brien and the late Rosemary Lavin; also survived by 5 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Monday after 9 A.M. at Holy Innocents Church, 1337 E. Hunting Park Ave. followed by Funeral Mass, 10 A.M. Interment Our Lady of Grace Cem. Dear Uncle Whitey, I will always think whenever I hear anything about Notre Dame (the only college worth mentioning). I know you missed Aunt Claire, and now you are together again. We will miss you! Love, Joe and Janet

I work with Sy at the Acme warehouse what a character. We had allot of fun getting on each other. Mostly the Notre Dame vs. Penn State football rivalry. I remember him not liking the Flyers and would say " I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out. There were only 2 teams he would recognize that was Notre Dame and the Phillies. His words to me were your nuts Pendergast . My thoughts and prayers are with you all. It was a pleasure knowing Sy. John Pendergast and Family.

I will miss Uncle Whitey at different family gatherings and talking about how the Phillies stink! R.I.P. Uncle Whitey! You're now with Aunt Claire, your sister, brother, mom, and dad! Gone but forever in our hearts!

I will miss my dad waving his hand/arm for just about everything--from Phillies to " I can't hear what you are saying!!" etc-----bye dad you are with claire now & other family.
