Steve and I shared memories of Camden life in the 1960's via McGraw and Davis Schools. During the latter we were old enough to make the journey with may East Camdenites to St. Stevens Dances on Browning Rd.and groove to the sounds of soul and to bop to the popular Hy Lit tunes and dances. Since we attented different high schools, our interactions were interrupted until we met again at Rutgers-Camden and we became loyal members of Kappa Sigma Upsilon (Kazoo) in 1971. Pledge life and fraternal bonds renewed our commitment to Camden as the City of Our Dreams! I know you are at Peace. Shalom

What a fantastic sense of humor,so dry and so to the point. I met Steve when we were counselors at Camp Hilltop in 1970 and we spent a lot of Sunday Nights
eating Ellios Pizza and listening to 105.3. He loved his music and he was just a great guy. We both attended Rutgers and both worked in The Bookstore. He will be missed. Ken Adelman

I regret that I had lost contact with Steve over the years. From Camden, during our formative years, thankfully memories do not fade; in fact, when they bubble up, it is as if they occurred just moments ago, especially when I'm reminded of Steve - under this unfortunate circumstance.
Steve was raised by loving parents, who provided many avenues of pleasant interactions for Steve at summer camp, Beth Israel Synagogue in Camden, USY, and a great Camden neighborhodd in those days.
In sum, my memories of Steve from those days are not different from the memories of those on this site who knew Steve from his high school years to the preent: They are: a most sunny disposition, warmth, love of music, kindness to others, an engaging personality, and one who was proud of his heritage, embraced it, and did not deny or forget it.
May G-d rest his soul.
My condolences to Mr. Bernie Bellitz, Steve's Family and his Friends.

Dear Bellitz Family,
My deepest condolences to all of you at this very difficult time. Steve and I go back to our childhood years growing up in East Camden, CHS and Rutgers. He kept the spirit alive of the City of Camden through his love of the music of our time. He was a great advocate for the disabled throughout his professional life and cared deeply for those he helped. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched along the way. We are all saddened by this huge loss.

Dear Adele, Samantha and Marissa, The Archway Brotherhood will not be the same with the loss of Steve. It is amazing that people that worked together for two or three years could remain close friends for so long. Steve's sense of humor and casual way with people added so much to our lives and we will miss him dearly. We loved him with all of our hearts. We offer you our deepest sympathy.

My condolences to Steve's family and all those who loved him dearly. He cared to be a positive energy while on this earth and certainly touched the lives of many people. I think if he were able to say something to us now it might be something like this that is taken from a piece I found..
"It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too... that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you. If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain, then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain." And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile, knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile...

I will miss Steve. He was an East Camsden neighbor, who I also briefly worked with professionally on behalf of a deaf client. Steve was also at Rugers the same time I was. My condolence to the Bellitz family, Steve will be truly missed. I'm sure the world is a better place because of his love.
I DREAM'D in a dream, I saw a city invincible to the attacks of the whole of the rest of the earth;
I dream'd that was the new City of Friends;
Nothing was greater there than the quality of robust love—it led the rest;
It was seen every hour in the actions of the men of that city,
And in all their looks and words.Walt Whitman

Steve will certainly be missed. Always a song to brighten our days or a helping hand. A great "memory lane" friend, who loved the good old days and the way life should be. The kindest man who loved life from his childhood days to his new grandpop title. A peace maker, animal lover, great friend, Dad and Grandpop. I hope the band in heaven plays the tune you love most when they welcome you with open arms! Goodbye Steve, thanks for the memories! God bless. With love, from the Cirelli family (Leo's Yum Yum)

To the Bellitz family, Please except my deepest expression of sympathy. There is nothing I can say about Steve you don't already know, but I'd still like to say he was one the kindest, sincere people I have ever had the please of meeting, always a kind word.
