My Darling Steve,
I still can't believe you are gone. I keep thinking that you are in Lancaster playing music with Wayne and will be home shortly.

When I realize you are not coming home, I still can't believe it. If my tears could bring you home, you would be here by now. I love you and miss you so much that my heart hurts.
I will love you forever and miss you even more.

Love Always
Your Wife,
Barbara

Steve was one of my best friends in high school. After college I moved West and we lost touch. I had periodically tried to find him but was unsuccessful. I wish I could have found him before reading of his passing. He was a great friend at a time (high school) when we all need one.

I first met Steven Leslie Singer, and his wife-to-be, Barbara, in Ecuador, in 1996. We were on a five-day steam-hauled train trip on the famous G&Q line. On the first day, before we boarded the train, I smelt cigar smoke - and it was Steve puffing away on a stogie. Having a supply myself, I was privileged to share it with him throughout our epic journey. We were smoking on the roof of the boxcar and in it. Ah, the memories! From that time onwards, Steve and I remained in regular contact, sharing our common enthusiasm for railroading and cigars. He was a most generous soul, one of the best friends I ever had. His passing leaves a gap that will never be filled. Farewell, dear friend...and my sincerest condolences to you, Barb, on your devastating loss.

Although I only met Steve for about three weeks on a mainly steam railway trip in South America -
Chile, Paraguay,Brazil, Bolivia and Argentina, we became great friends and kept in touch over the years. He facilitated the postage of various items from the USA for a model village with a railway which I am still building. I was planning to send him photos when it was finished, but it is not to be. My thoughts and prayers are with you Barbara.
Kindest regards,
Howard

I love you, and I miss you. It seems like a bad dream and you're just going to come back. I will miss seeing you everyday at Aunt Barbs and talking about music and how ridiculous ICP is with you. I really will miss you, and I hope you know.

I was saddened to learn that my good friend and long-time band-mate, passed away in his sleep. I first met Steve in 1975 at Franklin & Marshall College. We struck up a quick friendship and started playing music together not too long after seeing a Hot Tuna concert. I've been hanging out and playing music with him since then. We made a lot of good music over the years and had our share of laughs and thought-provoking conversations. He was a witty fellow, a world traveler with epicurean tastes, and a good friend to me.
