Mrs. Diamond, I always called you Mrs. Diamond not exactly out of respect but out of fear. Growing up in Pine Hill gave us the label as misfits [the kids] and rightfully so. We were just as afraid of getting a beating from someone else's mom as we were our own moms.

But nothing could have prepared you for the 2nd era that we went through together. Viet Nam, the whacky 70s, and the "effects' therafter. But you handled not only your son but all of us who were out there on the " Sixth Track" until we were able to find our way. I'm truly greatful that you were able to reap the same rewards as all of us did and that you had a loving and caring son at your side on that special birthday.

The sad note for me is that a little of me died the same day that you passed and the similarities of Bye Bye Miss American Pie seem apropos
