VIVIAN ZAMOST

ZAMOST VIVIAN MAY May 8, 2022, Our beautiful mother, Vivian May Zamost of Voorhees, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by family just eight days shy of her 91st birthday. Vivian grew up in the Logan neighborhood of Philadelphia to parents Hyman and Anna Levit. Sadly, Anna passed away when Vivian was 10. Hyman married Sylvia Kramer, who brought extra love into the house and helped him raise his two daughters, Vivian and Irene. Together, they had another daughter, Deenah, and the three sisters had an unbreakable bond for their entire lives. Vivian attended Olney High School and graduated in 1949. Her first job was at Raymond Rosen Engineers in Philadelphia. She met the love of her life, Karlton Zamost, and they married on December 27, 1953. Their romance grew even deeper with time and they often danced together in the living room and held hands whenever they walked together. Our dad passed away in 2000. After their first child was born, they moved to Cherry Hill, NJ, where they raised their family. They had three children, Scott Zamost; Bruce Zamost, (Donna); and Barbara Zamost (Alan). "Mom Mom Vivi" absolutely adored her grandchildren: Madeline Sowisdral (Dan), Edyn Jensen, Kiki Zamost, Zach Zamost, and Kyla Ryman. Vivian was her family's greatest cheerleader and genuinely believed they could do anything and relished every opportunity to trumpet their special moments. Vivian was devoted to raising her children and waited until they entered high school to return to work and take classes. She worked in the travel industry and retail and studied dental hygiene. Ultimately, she found what became her most beloved job at Eastern High School in Voorhees. Every day at Eastern was an adventure for Vivian working as an administrator in the principal's office and office manager for 25 years, retiring at 79 years old. She was passionate about education, world travel, and was an avid reader and a prolific poet. Relatives and friends are invited on Wednesday, May 11th beginning 10:00 A.M. to PLATT MEMORIAL CHAPELS, Inc., 2001 Berlin Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ where Funeral Services will begin promptly at 10:30 A.M. Vivian will be laid to rest at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Trevose, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Beyond Differences at www.beyonddifferences.org.
