Kathleen and Tim: I just found out about Bill's passing on Wednesday while having lunch with Jim and Kathy Dinan. We reminisced of the many fun times we had playing street basketball, football, half ball and many trips to Biggies and the Palestra. We thoroughly enjoyed our friendship with all of the Coogans. I was saddened that I missed the viewing. We will light a candle for him this weekend at Sacred Heart Church in Riverton, NJ

Andy called today to let me know of your loss.
Some of my fondest memories are my cousins playing on Buttenwood Street and baseball on the lot of 18th Street. And who could ever forget 'the fort'. Only the fellows were officers! Lol. I remember Bill reading his Mad Magazines. Life was uncomplicated and fun.
My sincerest condolence and prayers are with the Coogan family that you find strength to continue but never forget the great memories. Bill was a great cousin.

Kathleen, Tim and all of Bill's family,
I'm so sorry to find out of the passing of my cousin. I am often working out of state and loose track of family and friends.
I heard a quote once, "A cousin is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost."
So........ true!
Wishing you all the graces that only God can provide. I'll keep Billy in my prayers.

Kathleen and Tim,
I was so sorry to hear about Billy. We all used to have such great time in your house on 19th Street. There was always the scrabble game on the kitchen table.
I live in CT now and my cousin Patsy called to let me know about Bill. Your in my thoughts and prayers.
Your old friend and former neighbor.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. The members of our CopNET family would like to thank Philadelphia Homicide Detective William Coogan for his dedication and service to the citizens of Philadelphia. The passing of "The Mole" will be broadcast to our 3,570 members shortly and we would like to extend our sincere condolences to his family. His absence from our ranks will be deeply missed by the remaining members of Philadelphia's Finest who were fortunate to have served with him during his police career. He will continue in our thoughts and prayers during our remaining days. "Until we meet again, may God Hold you in the palm of his hand. " . . .
Semper Fidelis.
