WILLIAM DERRINGER Obituary
WILLIAM, 69, passed away on June 7, 2010 in Albuquerque, NM after a short battle with lung cancer. Bill was born on Oct. 30, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA. He was also a national award winning playwright having his plays produced throughout the country. He is survived by his partner of 30 years, Robert A. Bak, a brother Allen, in Philadelphia. Aunt Sophie Feinstein, with her daughter, Mrs. Jackie McShea of Maple Shade, NJ.
Being on stage acting, directing plays or writing for the theater was like his second home. In memory of Bill, please attend a live theater performance and support the arts.

Bill wrote a brilliant play about Ernie Pyle, which I was fortunate enough to be in at University of New Mexico. We also toured in Twelfth Night together aroung New Mexico back in 1991. His Malvolio was hilariously befuddled and made my Toby Belch even more fun to play. What a wonderful talent Bill was, both as an actor and as a writer. He will be missed.

I will always be grateful for the opportunity of finding each other again after 40+ years. Your wonderful insights into the Saturday gatherings at my house with our grandmother will live on forever in your stories and my heart.You will be greatly missed. Till we meet again cousin Bill.
