Over the last few days I've had the time to reflect on the passing of a man who truly touched my life. I'd like to offer my thoughts.
Bill, "Dad" was a gentle giant (Okay, I'm 5'9, he was probably 6'3 so to me, any man of that size borders on "giant".) He was also a shepherder (not surprising considering his Scottish heritage.) He had the ability to bring you into his circle as if you were family and shepherd you amongst others as if you were a long lost best friend. Thirteen years ago, I was invited to join the Macready Clan on one of their golf weekends to Myrtle Beach. I'd never met Dad but from the moment we were introduced, he was, simply, Dad. There was a graciousness and warmth that never waivered.
It isn't lost on me that Dad's passing on Monday falls on the very week of so many of our annual golf pilgramages. We will all miss those times.
William J..., I will remember you for your warmth and friendship since our first meeting. Please know that all of us who knew you will miss you and will be sustained by the many private and wonderful memories that we hold dear.
God bless your kind soul. May you rest in eternal peace.

It was a sadden surprise to hear of Bills death and a terrible shock. He was our ROCK OF GIBRALTAR-He was a very special person and we will always treasure the time spent with him and remember him fondly especially all the good times being his neighbor for 35 years.Remembering the fun times in the rec room,John Philip Sousa's Marches and endless parties at the Macreadys. He taught me how to do Cryptograms, and I got darn good at it too. We will never forget him for he was loved by so many and will be missed by all.
