I knew Mr. Wert only on a personal level, not in his professional life, as father to Kay and grandfather to my niece Athena. As I pass in my kitchen every day, his candlesticks are on the table-I am glad to have these gifts. On too many occasions Mr. Wert was my patient, enduring multiple procedures to keep on going. He really was our patient with multiple lives. At all times he was gracious and welcoming. The family truly was blessed to have him.

We have lost a great american that
exemplified honor, integrity, dignity,
and morality. A rock solid role model and a pillar of society. Mr. Wert's
initials were very appropriately: WOW
"May the lord bless you and keep you,
May the lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you,
May the lord lift up his countenance
upon you, and give you peace."

Grateful Always,
In loving memory,
Ron Coleman

Dear Aunt Sue, Uncle Jerry and The entire Wert Family,

I am so deeply saddened by the loss of your dad. He was such a special man and he is the reason I have such a wonderful job! He really went to bat for me and I will never ever forget it. I have such fond memories of Aunt Sue bringing me to her house and of watching Mr. Wert build such beautiful pieces of furniture and of playing school with Mrs. Wert, it was such a fond time in my life. You are very blessed Aunt Sue to have the parents that you have and that you had your dad for as long as you did. He is loved very much and will always be remembered.
I love you Aunt!
Love Lisa, Jeff, Ashley, Johnny and Lily!
Our deepest sympathies and paryers to you and the entire Wert Family

This is what Mr. Wert said in the EHS 1972 yearbook ?"There is always much concern among young people regarding their identity and attempts to find their identity. Too frequently the search is through foolish or selfish means. There is a fear that one will lose his identity in the service of... others. And yet this is the only way one can find himself in our very complex society where we are so very dependent upon each other for our own daily existence. We hope that your experience in school will help teach you the real meaning of what John Donne attempted to Convey when he wrote No Man Is An Island." William O. Wert....Ive had two careers my adult life....14 years as a Marine, 25 as a police officer......thank you Mr. Wert....RIP
