Wilson....Deborah Quesenberry passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021

I was preceded in death by the love of my life, James M. Sutherland; parents, Clyde Jess and Ilene Lesby Quesenberry; sister, Teresa Ann Hunt and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

I am survived by my daughter and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Cynthia Prince, as well as my only son and his fiancé, James Sutherland and Melissa Schmidl. I`m also leaving behind a granddaughter, Nicole Prince and grandson Connor Kinder. My lifelong friend Debra Summers will remain the same with those I`m leaving behind. Danette Miller is another steadfast friend and will be the one to carry on some of the funniest stories you may hear, and they are all true.

I attended Princeton High School until I couldn`t anymore then received my GED. Sometime around eighteen or nineteen I decided to go to school to help others and attended Mercer County Voc. School to become an LPN then Bluefield State College to become an RN. I think I was born to take care of people. I waitressed at the Holiday Inn in Princeton, WV until I had the desire to do some kind of nursing. I was an LPN in the field of psychiatry at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, WV for fifteen years and attended RN school during the latter part of that career.

Then, I can only attribute it to early menopause, I decided to do the worst of the worst and took a job at Charlotte Memorial Hospital Trauma Center (God help us.) I lasted as long as I could, maybe a couple of years then took a job as a traveling nurse. During this time I met wonderful nurses, some of which are friends to this day.

I settled for a few years in Statesville, NC and had big fun. Nurses there will also have some pretty funny stories to pass on. I worked on a private behavioral psych unit in Charlottesville, VA for just under a year until it closed. Then, I was employed at Culpeper Hospital in VA for approximately five years, which was enough time in that part of the country.

Then to the beach. I loved my employment at the Tidelands Health System and remained there for ten years until my retirement. Once again, I was able to work with excellent nurses in ICU, CCU and outpatient infusion.

Several things have sustained me throughout my marvelous life; my patients and my sense of humor. I hope my sense of humor has enriched other`s lives as it has mine. The funniest things in life are true and have pulled me out of some terrible times in my life. I hope other`s can use this humor to the same end. None of us are going to make it out of here alive.
