Jerry Brown Obituary

Jerry Lynn Brown, 71, of Amissville, VA passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Winchester Medical Center. He was born February 5, 1953 to the late James Harvey and Lou Ada Brown in Warren County, VA.

Jerry worked for R L Rider for over 40 years until they closed. He then worked with Hopkey in Alexandria until his retirement which he really enjoyed.

Jerry is survived by his sister, Jeanne Brown, two nephews, Shawn M. Brown and his wife, Joanne, and Jr. Brown; one special great niece, Hannah Brown; and special great nephew Bubbie Brown. Both his great niece and nephew were his porch sitting buddies. Jerry leaves behind many special friends who he enjoyed spending time with. There were a few who were much closer to him, like a brother; Clevie Hawkins, Glenn Tharp, Jason Nethers, and Matthew Settle.

In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his brother, James Edwin Brown.

Services will be held at a later date.

I met Jerry many years ago when he was running a crew for RL Rider and I was an Engineering Inspector for Fairfax Water. Jerry was a great guy who did great work. Loved working with him.
