Robert Boardman Obituary
Born March 31, 1942, in Kansas City, Mo., and raised in Lancaster, Wis., Bob leaves behind family and friends to tell the tales of his military and Prince William County (Va.) School System service and talents as an auto restorer, artist, and RV traveler.
Visitation is 10 a.m. Friday, April 25, at McLaurin Funeral Home and Pinecrest Memorial Park in Clayton, N.C., followed by a service at 11 a.m. and interment with military honors.
Bob is survived by an adoring blended family. He and his widow, longtime Cumberland County (N.C.) teacher Joanne Essey Boardman, would have celebrated their third anniversary on April 30.
Bob's daughters graduated from Stonewall Jackson Senior High in Manassas: Teri Boardman Boggess (John) of Raleigh, N.C.; Tami Boardman of Clayton, N.C.; and Tania Boardman of Cary, N.C. Grandson Jack Golder resides in Cary.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Dorene (Ready) Boardman.
Memorial donations may be made to the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle, Va.
