Scott Muthersbaugh Obituary

Scott Muthersbaugh passed away on December 22,2024.

Scott was the second child of Robert Muthersbaugh and Jean (Buckwalter) Swavely and grew up on a farm in rural Pennsylvania where he developed a love for animals, fresh milk, and ice cream that he never lost.

Scott and his brother Barry would eventually settle in the Sperryville area of Virginia where they were part of a thriving community of musicians. Scott loved playing his guitar and singing in several local bands. He was always happiest when he was playing music with his friends. Scott was also well-known as a carpenter, building many houses all over the county and lending his skills whenever they were needed.

Scott leaves behind his mother, Jean Swavely, and sister, Barbara Serafin. He was predeceased by his brother Barry in 2021. He is survived by his son, Shawn Heckart, husband of Sonya Heckart, and his granddaughter, Ashtyn Heckart. He will also be missed by his niece and many nephews as well as their families. The family would also like to thank his many friends who continued to assist Scott and visit him while he was in Lynn Care, especially Janice Palleria whose help during this time has been invaluable. A memorial service will be held in the spring or summer.

I´m so sorry to hear that Scott passed away. I´ve been searching for his name online for awhile but could never find anything until I saw the obituary tonight. I was a good friend of Scott´s in High School and am so sorry I was never able to contact him.
Condolences to his mom and sister.
