Ian Snyder Obituary

Ian Chance Snyder was born in Bishop, California on May 24, 1985 and passed away in Bishop on December 24, 2024 leaving behind his family and friends who loved him so much. Growing up in Bishop Ian was raised with a great love for the outdoors, he was passionate about hunting, fishing, golfing, and skiing. He spent the majority of his youth exploring the Owens Valley from one end to the other on dirt roads, hiking trails, and ski runs, tempting fate with his sense of adventure and eye for a little mischief. His passion for hunting and fishing was something he enjoyed sharing with his nephews as often as he could. Taking them to the areas he hunted and fished as a kid was one of his greatest joys, and the pride he took in being an uncle was unmatched. Aside from his adventures in the outdoors, Ian had another passion in life and that was work. Following in his father's and grandfather's footsteps, Ian spent many years working in the road construction field working on projects from Reno down to the Southern California area.
Ian approached life with a quick wit, kind disposition, more charisma than anyone should be allowed to have, and unwavering sense of humor. The joy he brought to all who knew him will remain second to none and the void left by his passing will remain forever.
Ian is preceded in death by his grandparents Gene and Sarg Snyder of Bishop and grandfather Leroy Nerren of Bishop. Ian is survived by his parents, John and Marie Snyder (Bishop), sister and brother-in-law Morgan and Miles Maillet (Bishop), brother Peter Ascencio (Ventura), sister Alyse Snyder (Reno), nephews Birch Ray, Ridge Ray, and Payer Maillet (Bishop), nieces Shelby Maillet and Rowan Ray (Bishop), and long-term girlfriend Mirna Vasquez of Long Beach.
Funeral services for Ian will be held at Bishop Creek Community Church, on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Celebration of Life to follow at the Bishop Country Club. In lieu of flowers donations in Ian's memory can be made to the NRA or the charity of your choosing.

John Marie, and Morgan, we are so sad about Ian´s passing. He was such a fun kid when he and Brett were partners in crime. Our hearts go out to your family and we´re so glad Brett and his family were able to be at the celebration of his life. He loved Ian. Hugs across the miles. Susan and Glenn Singley.

Ian was a beautiful soul. Always smiling, with a little twinkle in his eye. He always called me, Jo beautiful, when he saw me. Something he started in high school. It made me feel great. Love you, Ian.

Ian always loved to mess with Morgan and us (her friends) when we watched scary movies. I was never be the same after a particular scare while watching Poltergeist. He came up with a mask on and banged on our window and scarred us for life haha! He was so much fun and is so missed.

You had the same fun personality as your dad. Your mom and I traded off babysitting when you were little, you and Morgan were adorable blond babies, I loved you and I always will so happy you were in our lives.
