John Francis Ross Jr.

1949 - 2024

Passed away December 4, 2024 after an unexpected heart attack. At the age of 74.
John was born in Glendale, CA on March 29 1949 to John Francis Ross and Betty Sommers Ross.
He grew up in Lakewood, CA where he attended elementary and high school. John bought his first house at the age of 21 in Huntington Beach, CA. His only child a daughter Angie was born August 29, 1971. John is preceded in death by his mother and father and sister.
John's life was filled with constant adventures.
He was also a car collector having many classic cars over the years.
John leaves behind his beloved wife of 35 years, Debra. Daughter Angie Flores in Smyrna, Tennessee, grandchildren Jessica, Zen and Wiley.
Two stepsons Wes Anthony in Hollywood, Florida and Brad Anthony in Dayton, Nevada, five grandchildren Tara, Amy, Staci, Aaron and Travis. Three great-grandchildren Cameron, Olivia and Jiraiya.
John moved to Crowley Lake, where he was known as the Roller Skating breakfast cook at McGee Creek his first job of many. He definitely was a 'Jack of All Trades'. He moved to Bishop, CA in 1986, working at various restaurants, doing mechanic repairs and painting cars. His mission in life making old cars and classic cars look beautiful. He truly enjoyed painting cars. From Bishop he moved to Dayton, Nevada where he built a large workshop, enjoyed working on his classic cars and building bird houses.

In Loving Memory of John (JR) Francis Ross, Jr., a beloved friend and neighbor, passed away at the age of 74 on December 4, 2024. Known for his remarkable ability to fix anything, he was the go-to handyman in our community, always ready to lend a helping hand.
Beyond his knack for repairs, John (JR) had a deep love for classic cars, spending countless hours restoring and admiring his cherished collection. He also had a passion for gardening, and his homegrown tomatoes were a favorite among friends and family.
His kindness, wisdom, and generous spirit will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind so many friends north and south and a neighborhood and a town forever grateful for his friendship.
A celebration of his life will be held In his honor, (date to determined).
Take a moment to fix something, admire a classic car, or enjoy a homegrown tomato – just as he would have.
