Barbara Martuch Obituary

Barbara J. Martuch, 84, of Mikado, passed away Monday, April 8, 2024 at her home.
Born Sept. 21, 1939 to Irwin Eugene and Bernita Rose (London) Sweet in Mikado, she has been a lifelong resident of the area. On June 3, 1988, she married Harold Martuch.
Barb was a devoted homemaker and an excellent baker. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren for many years. She worked at St. Vincent DePaul in Mikado, was a longtime member of the Mikado Goodfellows, and a member of the Alcona County Fair Board.
Barbara is survived by her three children, Douglas Travis, Denise (Mike) Lee, and Richard Travis all of Mikado; six grandchildren, Joanna (TJ) Griffin, Johnny (Aubrey) Smith, Brooke (Mike) Sommer, Melody Travis, Harmony (Alex Bump), and Brilee Travis; eight great grandchildren; seven siblings, Charlie Sweet, Irene Hartman, Cathy (Clifford) Travis, Jeannie (Tom) D'Angelo, Jim (Jenny) Sweet, Debbie Thum, and Sandy (Russ) Scannavino; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold, on June 27, 1996; the father of her children, Delbert Travis; and two brothers-in-law, Jim Hartman and Karl Thum.
Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. A memorial gathering will be held in July. Memorial donations are suggested to the Mikado Goodfellows.
