Cheryl H. Borts

Cheryl H. (Davis) Borts, age 69, passed away on Sept. 16, 2025, in Muskegon.
Sherry was born on Nov. 9, 1955, in Bay City. She was the daughter of Larry and Lucille (Atherton) Davis of South Branch.
Sherry attended Hale High School. She married Larry Borts on Aug. 8, 1974. Sherry worked a few jobs in her life, but her favorite was for a nursing home as a Certified Nurse Aide. She enjoyed caring for others.
Sherry loved to play games with her family and friends. The marble game Aggravation was her favorite. She also loved holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas. Sherry went all out to decorate and make them special. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially making holiday cookies with her grandkids. Sherry also loved animals, particularly cats.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Michael) Kimble, grandchildren, Alexandra, Dakota, Kialynn and Laura Kimble; and sisters, Marilyn (Alan) Mattausch and Lisa (Gerald) Breneman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; and her parents.
A service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20, at Buresh Funeral Home in Hale. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and end at the time of service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Big Lake Humane Society, 2640 Marquette Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442
