Dave Borts Obituary
Dave E Borts III, "Bub", 59 transitioned on January 26, 2025. After a long battle of several health issues.
Bub lived in Davenport, Florida with his husband David James Witke and one cat. Bub was born in Newton, Iowa on March 15, 1965 to Dave E. Borts Jr. and Penny (Kintz) Borts.
Bub graduated from Colfax High School and then attended Central College in Pella, Iowa.
He coached little league baseball in Colfax, he enjoyed watching the Tampa Bay Bucaneers, and took an active role in all of his neices and nephews lives.
Bub's favorite time of year was Christmas. Starting with Christmas in July on the Hallmark channel. Making sure that the Christmas tree went up the day after Thanksgving. The first few years in Florida Bub worked at Universal in a management role. He and Dave would often take walks at one of the many state trails.
Those left to honor Bub's memory are his husband, Dave Witke; his sisters Joyce Clapp and Robin (William) Garner; his brothers John Borts and Lonnie (Jodie) Borts; brother's-in-law Mike DesPlanques, Doug (Leticia) Witke, and Eric (Kathy) Witke; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He is preceeded in death by his parents; his sister Brenda DesPlanques; mother-in-law Karen Ona; and brother-in-law Danny Johns Witke.
