Karla Mackerman Obituary
Karla was born on June 23, 1944, in Newton, Iowa, to Frederick L. Mackerman and Grace Maxine (Gifford) Mackerman. She graduated from Newton High School in 1963 and went on to work in secretarial roles for Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Karla also proudly served in the United States Army.
She was a member of the Izaak Walton League and a Watkins member. Karla was also a devoted fan of the Iowa NiteHawks football team. In her free time, she enjoyed camping, reading books, and collecting owls.
Karla will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Duane Mackerman and Mark Mackerman (Esther Breon); her grandchildren, Mark Mackerman and Jennifer Mackerman; and her brother, Francis "Mack" Mackerman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Richard and Fred Lee.
