Frederick Mackerman Obituary
of Chandler, AZ passed away Sept. 10, 2009 at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Campus Hospital. Mr. Mackerman was preceded in death by his father Fred L. Mackerman of Newton, IA in 1994. He is survived by his mother, Grace M. Mackerman of Newton, IA; two brothers, Richard H. Mackerman of Reasnor, IA and Francis L. "Mac" Mackerman of Warren, MI; a sister, Karla S. Collins; his wife of 47 years Ila Mackerman; two sons, Bryan L. Mackerman of Mechanicsville, MD and Dustin J. Mackerman of Mesa, AZ and 2 grandchildren. Fred was employed at Newton Daily News in Newton, IA from 1961 to 1985 and was also employed at Phoenix Offset (Gannett/USA Today) from 1985 to 2008. Fred was a 25 year resident of Chandler AZ. He was a beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather. Fred will be sorely missed by all who loved and knew him. Memorial Service Thurs. Sept. 17, 2009 5:00PM-7:00PM at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church 9248 E. Riggs Rd. Sun Lakes, AZ. 85248. Family suggests memorial contributions to the church in Fred's name. Dear Ila and family, Our prayers are with you at this time. Mack and I certainly had some special times together back in Jasper County chasing the bad guys and even putting some on the right path. Love and special memories can never be taken away from us. Be comforted now that Mack is in the arms of Jesus. God Bless you and yours.
