Lorraine Grossenbach

Scottsdale - Lorraine Thompson Grossenbach, age 98, of Scottsdale passed away July 4, 2021 at her home in Westminster Village. She was born in Madison, Wisconsin July 11, 1922, to Alvin and Ursula Thompson. She was raised and educated in Madison, graduating from the University of Wisconsin in 1943, where she was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority. She moved to NYC to follow a career in marketing with R. H. Macy's, and subsequently moved to Paris, France to marry her college sweetheart, Richard (Dick) Grossenbach, who was studying art there. She returned to NYC with her husband and worked in marketing and importing, traveling the world extensively. In 1978, she and Dick moved to Scottsdale where she continued to work in marketing and sales. In 1990, Lorraine became a survivor of breast cancer.

She was a member of St. Barnabas on the Desert Episcopal Church, the Delta Gamma Sorority, McCormick Ranch Women's Association, Bosom Buddies of Arizona, New Dimensions Women's Club and Western Women's Greeters Club. Lorraine will be remembered as a trailblazer, a woman ahead of her time, who lived her life to the fullest and dearly loved her husband.

Services will be held August 7, at St. Barnabas on the Desert 10:30 am (6715 North Mockingbird Lane, Scottsdale) followed by a reception at Westminster Village at 12:30 pm, (12000 North 90th St., Scottsdale).
