Selma B. Roth

Selma B. Roth passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2026, surrounded by so much love. Selma celebrated her 95th birthday with family and friends, just a week before her passing . Born in West Alice, Wisconsin, Selma and her family moved to Los Angeles, California for the warmer climate. Selma attended the University of Wisconsin for a year, before transferring to UCLA. While at UCLA, she met the love of her life, Jerry Roth. They were married at Temple Beth El in Jerry's hometown of Allentown. She and Jerry graduated from UCLA, then moved to Chicago so Jerry could attend law school. After graduation, the couple moved back to L.A., which is where their first two sons, Judd and Kyle, were born. Seeking a quieter lifestyle to raise their family, Selma and Jerry moved to Allentown. Shortly thereafter, Adam was born, then Douglas, and finally a daughter, Melissa. Selma was exceedingly proud of her five children and devoted her life to them. While she served as the office manager for Jerry's law practice for over 30 years, she always prioritized being home for her children after school. Selma was an excellent chef, a talent she passed down to her children and grandchildren. She was a dedicated community volunteer, serving on several boards and giving generously of her time. In her later years, she was particularly proud to volunteer at Perfect Fit in Allentown and was always excited to share stories of the women she assisted. Selma was a resident at Country Meadows, where she was treated with loving kindness. As her family grew, Selma formed a unique and special bond with each of her grandchildren. She was overjoyed to become a great-grandmother in 2025; she met her second great-grandson via FaceTime just one day before her passing, a final moment of great joy. She was a member of Temple Beth El, Allentown.

Survivors: Selma is survived by her children, Judd and partner, Ruth, Kyle and wife Lisa, Adam and wife, Penny, and Melissa; and nine grandchildren, Capri and husband, Brian, Alex and wife, Julia, Jade, Nikki and husband, AJ, Leah, and Veronica; and two great-grandsons, Micah and Rowan. Selma is also survived by her many friends who loved her, and all her children's friends, who she referred to as her "adopted children." Selma was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry in 2007, and her son Douglas in 2013.

Services: A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Beth El Memorial Park, Mechanicsville Road, Whitehall, PA 18052.
