Dale Tarras Obituary

Dale "Boone" Tarras, 57, died Oct. 15, 2011 at Alpena Regional Medical Center.
The life-long Oscoda resident was born Nov. 23, 1953 to John and Vera Tarasiewicz.
He graduated from Oscoda High School in 1971, where he played on the Owl football team and was named all-conference offensive lineman.
He was retired as a carpenter and was formerly employed by the Lakewood Shores Property Owners Association, Kalitta Air and Oscoda Township.
He enjoyed ice fishing, snowmobiling, motorcycling, woodworking and crossword puzzles.
Boone is survived by his son, Daniel Tarras of Oscoda; one brother, Bob (Trudy) Tarras of Big Bear Lake, Calif.; and by 16 nieces, four nephews, a great niece and three great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Tarasiewicz; his mother, Vera T. Seefelt; and by his brothers, Ronnie Herbin and John and Ricky Tarras.
Visitation will be tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 27, from noon to 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oscoda. Father Craig Haider will conduct the funeral Mass at 1 p.m., with a luncheon to follow. Burial will be at Pinecrest Cemetery.
