Edward Schefferly Obituary

Edward John Schefferly, 81, of Greenbush, passed on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Diane (nee Kordenbrock) Schefferly; daughters Kim and Tammy Schefferly and Lori (Tom) Mulroney; grandchildren Ryan and Erin; great grandchildren Nola, Nash and Brielle. He is also survived by his brother, Dick (Sharon) Schefferly; nephews Gregg and Richard; and niece Donna.
Ed was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Oscoda.
Ed was born in Detroit on Oct. 10, 1936 to Edward Charles "Eddie" and Janet Ruth "Jen" (nee Cook) Schefferly. His father, Eddie, was also born and raised in Detroit. His mother, Jen, was born and raised in Haynes Township, Alcona County.
Ed was proud to serve as a Detroit firefighter. He was awarded numerous citations for lifesaving rescues. Ed loved the outdoors of northern Michigan. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and a passionate sports fan.
His devotion to his family brought him much joy and he will be greatly missed.
Interment is at Mount Joy Cemetery in Harrisville. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.

It was my pleasure to be a friend of Ed and Diane and see the love shared by them. Ed lived the dream, his stunning and loving wife, his loving family, his job, his beautiful home up-north, his hunting, and many friends. I pray all the memories of the good things will bring peace and comfort through God during this time of sorrow. Ed will be missed but not forgotten.
