Eugene Morrison Obituary

Gene Morrison passed away on Sept. 19, 2021 due to COVID at the age of 90.
He was born on a farm near Hale on Nov. 15, 1930. His parents were John and Erma Morrison. He was raised and worked on the family farm and later had some odd jobs that he was proud of. These jobs included cheese maker, bumper installer on Buicks, TV repairman, air traffic controller, and butcher. He served in the US Army during the Korean War, stationed in Alaska.
He went to school afterwards and became an electrical engineer with GE and NCR. His career took him and his family to Utica, N.Y. Xenia, Ohio and New Concord, Ohio. He was active in the Masonic Lodge throughout his life.
Gene is survived by his loving wife, Marion (Herriman) Morrison. They were married nearly 70 years. They had three kids, Thomas Rick Morrison (Connie) of Beavercreek, Ohio, Greg Morrison (Irene) in Edmond, Okla. and Monica Grubb (Darrel) in Whipple, Ohio; six grandkids, Lessa, Maggie, and Calvin of Marietta, Ohio and Matthew, Dominik, and Steven of Edmond, OK.; and great granddaughter, Evelyn of Marietta.
Gene and Marion made many friends along the way, including most recently at Oak Grove Community near Englewood, Fla. He loved to share his life stories in a very animated fashion that brought a smile to many faces. He will be remembered and missed. Gene will be buried at Sarasota National Cemetery.

We just heard of Genes passing. We loved that old guy from our hometown of Hale. And then to travel 1200 miles south and wind up living on the same street. Crazy coincidence. And yes we loved hearing about his travels and life´s tales. Sadly missed, but cloud hopping in Heaven is fun too
