Kay and Gaylord we´re with Mary and I I at a Gettysburg Pennsylvania church unknowing that the spot that the pastor asked me to sit in one of the pews was a very spot that president Lincoln sat before he gave the famous Gettysburg address. The four of us were in shock. The four of us did many things as we travel the state and country representing the bicentennial project of the state of Michigan as a member of that fifth Michigan regiment Civil War band. Sadly, the current band has no knowledge of our existence, but we were the original and we were proud to serve our state at Washington DC Gettysburg, and around the state of Michigan. I really miss Gaillard and I´d love to K and her children and grandchildren

Gaylor and Kay along with my wife Mary and I John Church we´re good friends at the members of the fifth Michigan regiment Civil War band in Livingston county. Our band was the bicentennial project in 1976 for the state of Michigan and we traveled around the state of Michigan as well as performing in Washington DC in front of the White House and at Gettysburgwhere after a performance, the minister at Gettysburg invited us to his church to visit the building well the other band members were hot and tired. It was really a rough day so OK Gaylord Mary and I went to the church to discover that it was Historical search, and with the elaborate fruit shoes, they were draped pairs of thick paired colors with gold caps in the end as they draped over certain areas just waiting up for a person to sit, and it turns out that these were the various spots were past presidents visit the church prayed before they went off to Gettysburg and do whatever celebrations or speeches or whatever the puzzle was giving at the time and the minister had me sit in this royal purple area, where the two ropes are ready the other side of me, and as he was discussing the historical nature of the presidency asked me which president where I was sitting at, and I looked at him and K and Gaylor and my wife Mary had no idea and the minister said that this is the exact spot where prayer that Abraham Lincoln Delton prayed prior to giving his famous Gettysburg address so I guess I was one of the very very few to sit there. In fact I may have been the only one allowed to sit there, but because we were representing the country and the bicentennial, and so that the minister fellow was that important for us to be recognized for what we gave to the community and Gaylor and Kay had the opportunity, but I end up sitting there and we made history. I miss Kay and Gaillard so much. I love them to pieces. They were the best friends on our many adventures with the band. Love to the family, John.
