Helen Jacqualine Groff

Helen Jacqualine Groff of Tawas City passed away peacefully at her home under the loving care of her family and hospice on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, age 82 years.
Helen was born on July 6, 1934 in Twining to Chester and Nola (Finerty) Butts. She married Willard A. Groff on April 23, 1955 and they celebrated 55 beautiful years of marriage until his passing in 2011. Helen was privileged with the opportunity to remain at home during her working years to raise their children and care for the household duties.
She will be happily remembered for her enjoyment of going on road trips to casino's, being outdoors and mushroom picking, fishing and country music! Helen also was a huge Detroit Tiger baseball and New England Patriot fan. Above all though, she truly loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Helen will be forever missed by all who had the chance to know and love her.
She is survived by her three children, Dennis Groff of Columbus, Ohio and his significant other, India, and her two children, Innocent and Infinity, Dick (Polly) Groff of Tawas City and Angela (Chad) Wilson of Tawas City; five grandchildren, Kristy (Randy), Zachary (Bridgette), Brandon (Natasha), Sayje, and Lakelynn; six great grandchildren, Noah, Olivia, David, Clayton, Bristol and Braxton; two sisters, Barbara Young and Nola Thompson; two brothers-in-law, Gerald (Jan) Groff and Jim (Thelma) Groff; three sisters-in-law, Betty (Ken) Jones, Darlene Meske and Linda Sarazen; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Willard A. Groff; three sisters, Thelma, Ida and Evelyn; and one brother, Checker.
A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, April 15 at 1 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City with Haven Bouchard officiating. Her family will welcome friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
