Katherine LeDuke Obituary

Katherine Francis LeDuke of East Tawas, formerly a resident of St. Clair Shores, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 11, 2023 at the Medilodge of Milford in Milford, age 99 years.
Katherine was born in Detroit on April 18, 1924 to the late Frank and Edith (Labadie) Hawthorne. She married her husband, Charles E. LeDuke on Feb. 14, 1942 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores, and together the couple welcomed three daughters to their family and celebrated 66 beautiful years of marriage until Charles' passing.
During her younger motherhood years, Katherine was blessed with the opportunity to work from home raising her three daughters with her loving care. Katherine enjoyed keeping herself busy by interior decorating and spending time outside gardening.
She was also a long time member of the Tawas City F.O.E. Women's Club. Her surviving beloved family will forever cherish the memories and life lessons Katherine was able to share and create together.
Katherine is survived by her daughter, Susan J. LeDuke of Milford; grandchildren, Mandy (Ron) Jahlas, Jason Hermes, Tara (Larry) Chadwick, Heather Barsotti, Scott (Dana) Muth, Todd (Lisa) Muth, Jeff (Erin) Muth, Katie Schlief, and Ashley Lobbestael; great grandchildren, Skye and Scarlette Nahas, Alex and Miles Muth, Brooke and Brett Muth, Nathan and Jordan Chadwick, Hannah and Brad Muth, Antonio Jr. and Giovanni Barsotti, Noah and Neveah Schlief; and one great great grandson, Roman Schlief.
Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. LeDuke; and two daughters, Patricia Lobbestael and Nancy Muth.
A Catholic Funeral Mass is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 20, at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas with Reverend Father Lawrence Boks officiating. Her family will welcome friends at church for a time of visitation on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of her funeral mass. Per her wishes, cremation will take place after her funeral mass and she will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in East Tawas.
