Marlene was born on July 20, 1935, in Ahlen, Germany, to the late Heinrich and Anastasia (Hodek) Niehaber. Marlene came to America in 1953, and started her life in the States at Ellis Island. Following her time there, she moved to live with two of her uncles in Auburn.
She married Allen Anschuetz on June 9, 1956, at Zion Lutheran Church in Auburn. Together they shared 58 years together and raised their beautiful daughter, Debbie.
Marlene worked as a sales clerk for over 20 years. She loved to be around her family. Some of her favorite hobbies consisted of working in her garden of flowers, knitting and making beautiful afghans, going to the casino, playing cards, and baking cookies.
Marlene is survived by her loving daughter, Debbie and her son-in-law, Jim O'Farrell of Oscoda. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Anschuetz; two brothers, and two sisters.
Per Marlene's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family is planning a private interment into Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Tawas City, with graveside prayers performed by Pastor Mark Lindloff.
