Michael R. 'Mick' Wanless

Michael R. "Mick" Wanless of Oscoda, formerly of Bay City, was called home by his heavenly Father on Tuesday evening, Oct. 31, 2017, in Tawas City.
He was born on Sept. 17, 1943 to the late Henry and Alzena Wanless.
He was retired from G.M. Powertrain and was a member of U.A.W. Local 362 in Bay City.
He married the former Dolores "Dee" Kosecki on Nov. 23, 1963 in St. Maria Goretti Church by Fr. Kearns. They had two daughters, Diane and Amy.
Never one to sit still, he found joy in many things in life. He was truly a people person and lots of fun to be around. Despite the many health issues that he faced, he never dwelt on them, but lived life to the fullest. One never to put on airs, he remained the person God created him to be and always treated others just as they were, always seeing the good in others and always the peacemaker. He truly had a gift of uplifting people and was always the life of the party. He shall always be remembered for the kindness he showed to us all.
Preceding him in death was his precious daughter, Amy Lynn Wanless, who he loved and missed so very much, and now has joined; his parents, Henry and Alzena Wanless; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Al and Sophie Kosecki; his brother, Tom Wanless; and brothers-in-law Bill Shelburg, Don, Harold, Jim, Ray and Floyd Kosecki; sisters-in-law Joann, Pauline, Peggy and Frances Kosecki; a second family to Mick, the Isaac family; and special friend Father Vernon Sierminski, who led Mick to the Catholic faith, which Mick learned to embrace.
Surviving are his loving wife, Dolores "Dee;" his precious and loving daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Bill Andrick; grandsons Justin (Mykaela) Andrick and John Andrick; great granddaughters Paetyn and Amelia Andrick; granddaughters Jessica (Joe) Hauri and Sarah Walter; nine more great grandchildren; his brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Charlotte Wanless; sisters and brothers-in-law Beverly Shelburg, Cathy and Mike Fisher, Sue and Dan Darland and Patti and Dave Karp; brothers and sisters-in-law Gerald Kosecki, Bob and Helen Kosecki, Patricia LaFramboise, Susanne, Jackie and Elnora Kosecki; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 13 at St. Vincent De Paul Church on 2 Mile and N.E. Union Road in Bay City.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
