Patrick Schriber Obituary

Patrick Michael Schriber of East Tawas passed away on Sept. 21, 2021.
Pat was the fourth child of six born to Ashley and Rose (Mochty) Schriber on Oct. 14, 1940 in East Tawas. Pat was in the Army in the early 1960s and was stationed in Germany for most of his deployment. He spent 19 years as a barber in the Clarkston area before moving back to Tawas in 1980 where he lived out his dream of becoming a carpentry contractor.
Pat was an outgoing, generous person who always had a smile on his face, a glint in his eye, and a humorous comment for those that he knew well. His door was always open and he welcomed all into his home. He loved the sunrise on Tawas Bay, the 4th of July celebrations, conversed with anyone at various "establishments" in town, developed a multitude of friendships, and was always ready to have fun!
He had a lot of "Pat" idioms that many knew; "you will never know it in 100 years," "you hit the nail on the head," "every day, in every way, you are getting better and better," "six of one, half dozen of the other," and many more.
He was married to Karen Holmes and had three children. If you asked him, he would tell you his greatest joy was his "3 M's." Marc Schriber (Raquel) of Troy, Michele LaPorte (JC) of Indianapolis, Ind. and Marci of East Tawas. He was also delighted with his wonderful grandchildren, Anneliese and Matthew Schriber, Leah and Lynsey LaPorte, Alyssa Wesley, Aaron Jr., and Eden Wills. He is survived by his children; sister Joan Bissonette of East Tawas, brother James (Sonny) Schriber of Tawas City, and sister Mary Hughes of Bay City. He was preceded in death by his sister Catherine, parents Ashley and Rose, and brother Don.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and Pat's family will host a gathering with a memorial prayer service with military honors on Saturday, Oct. 16 at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City. The gathering will take place at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. At noon, Father Charlie Donajkowski will officiate a prayer service for Pat and then the Tawas Area Honor Guard will conduct a military funeral ceremony following the prayer service.
Those wishing to express their sympathies through a memorial contribution are encouraged to consider a donation to the Tawas Area Fireworks c/o Tawas Area Chamber of Commerce, which will help to provide a beautiful 4th of July firework celebration! An online guest registry is available to leave a message of love and support for Pat's family at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
