Phyllis Barkley Obituary

Phyllis Odette Barkley, age 92 of Clio, passed away peacefully at WellBridge of Fenton on Thursday, July 3, 2025.
In accordance with Phyllis's wishes, cremation has taken place Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Phyllis's tribute wall at martinfuneralhome.com.
Phyllis Odette Wesenick was born on May 22, 1933, in Flint, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lorne and Helena (Degrow) Wesenick. Educated locally, Phyllis graduated from Flint Technical High School with the Class of 1951.
Phyllis would meet a young gentleman, Loren Barkley. The two dated, fell in love and were united in marriage on Aug. 22, 1952. Their marriage would be blessed with three children, Brenda, Barbara, and Annette. Sadly, Loren passed away in 2013.
Phyllis's career path would lead her into the medical field, where she was employed at a dentist office, working as a medical billing clerk.
In her free time, Phyllis enjoyed quilting, square dancing, painting lawn items, and ceramics, needlework, cross stitch, knitting, riding motorcycles, camping, and traveling.
Left to cherish Phyllis's memory are her three children, Brenda Battin, Barbara Decker, and Annette (Thomas) McEachern; eight grandchildren, Bradley (Victoria), Linnea (Jared), Andrea (Rich) and David, Sara (Jack), Anthony, Aric (Lisa), Aaron (Amber); 13 great grandchildren; Kara, Liam, Owen, Greyson, Dennis, Stephanie, Duffy, Penny, Raymond, Ryder, Chalmers, Benson, and Ayla; and many other family members and friends.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Loren; parents; and her two brothers, Jay and Wesley Wesenick.
