Richard Frederick Voss Jr.

Richard "Rick" Frederick Voss Jr., 33, of Whittemore passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011.
Rick was born the son of Christina and the late Richard Voss Sr., on Feb. 25, 1978 in West Branch.
Rick spent his adult life as a self-employed truck driver and was known by many as an ambitious, determined hard-worker, who always got the job done, no matter how difficult the task. He also knew his way around a motor, performing his first oil-change on his grandmother's car at the age of 10.
And while Rick was respected for his work ethics and knowledge, his daughter, Jasmine, brought him the most joy in life. He loved being a dad and he loved being a family with Jasmine's mother, Wendy Powell. When Rick did sneak some time off, he enjoyed hunting and hanging with his dogs, Buddy and Ruby.
Besides his girlfriend, Wendy Powell; daughter, Jasmine Voss; and mother, Christina (Mark Wilga) Voss; Rick is survived by one sister, Tanya (Scott Suszko) Voss; grandmother, Catherine Voss; grandparents, Robert Forro and Joyce "Grannie" Forro; aunt, Patti Voss; and many, many friends and family. Rick was preceded in death by his father, Richard Voss Sr.; and grandfather, Max Voss.
Funeral services for Rick was held Saturday, Oct. 8 at C.L. Forshee & Sons Funeral Homes, Inc., Twining Chapel with Deacon Jack Rohn of Good News Ministries Church officiating. Interment was in Reno Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family is respectfully requesting memorials be made to the family so that a trust may be established for Rick's daughter, Jasmine.
