Richard Wilson Obituary

Richard Allen Wilson, of Tawas City passed away at his home with his family by his side on Tuesday, Nov. 6, age 86.
Richard was born on Jan. 30, 1932 in Lapeer to Lewis and Naomia (Kendall) Wilson. He graduated in the Class of 1950 from Mandeville High School, and then he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served our country from 1952 until his honorable discharge in 1956.
Upon Richard's return home from the military, he went to work for D&M Railway and after 25 faithful years of employment, Richard finally decided to step away from the work force and enjoy his retirement years in 1984.
Richard married his wife and best friend, Joyce (Flewelling), on May 5, 1956 at First Baptist Church in Tawas City. Together they have celebrated 62 beautiful years of marriage!
Richard will be dearly remembered for his collecting of Buck Knives and his passion of enjoying the outdoors, especially hunting. He will be truly missed and cherished by all who know and loved him.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce Wilson of Tawas City; two daughters, Diana (James) Ulman, and Denise Wilson; three grandchildren, Dylan (Lynette) Ulman, Dustan Bradley and Lisa Bell; three great grandchildren, Brielle, Kaiden and Miley; one niece, Shelley; three nephews, Aaron, Jessie,and Rick; plus many dear friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Glee Wilson; and a nephew, Roger Wilson.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 3 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City with Reverend Timothy Pike officiating. Interment with full military honors will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Tawas City. Richard's family will welcome friends for visitation at the funeral home Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service.

We got to know Dick while he was in Florida for the winter. He was fine man, like to take about service days. RIP Dick and prayers for your family
