Vaughn Milliron Obituary
Vaughn was born on March 6, 1922 in Benzie County to Floyd Blair and Elsie Harriet (Hotchkin) Milliron. After high school graduation, Vaughn enlisted with the United States Navy where he proudly served our country during World War II as a distinguished Naval carrier fighter pilot, earning the rank of lieutenant JG.
Upon receiving his honorable discharge from his active military service, Vaughn went to work for the Buick Motor Company in Flint. He was employed as a skilled tradesman with Buick for 32 years, retiring in October of 1974.
Those who knew Vaughn will always remember how he truly enjoyed activities and the beauty of the outdoors. He also loved to hunt and fish, work in his garden and travel all over the country with his family. He was a very active member of Oscoda Baptist Church and the Oscoda Masonic Lodge where he willingly held many offices throughout the years.
Vaughn married his lovely wife, Joan (Reid), in Mt. Morris on May 27, 1944. Together, they celebrated 68 beautiful years of marriage.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Joan Milliron of Oscoda; two children, Elizabeth Dale (Richard) Raber of Waterford and Donald Blair (Paula) Milliron of Clio; daughter-in-law Jannette Milliron of Millersburg; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one brother, Marvin Milliron of Oscoda; niece, Cindy Knight, and nephew, Kenneth Milliron, both of Oscoda; his entire church family at Oscoda Baptist Church; and many more nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Vaughn was preceded in death by a son, David Bruce Milliron.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial service with military honors to celebrate his life at a later date to be announced. Those wishing to do so may make a memorial contribution in his name to either Oscoda Baptist Church, 5589 North US-23, Oscoda, MI 48750 or Tawas St. Joseph Hospice, 220 Beech St., Tawas City, MI 48763. An on-line guest registry is available at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com. Cremation arrangements were by Buresh Funeral Home in Oscoda.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Aunt Jo and the rest of the family at this difficult time. We will miss you Uncle Vaughn. I remember many summer's day hanging out at your house when you lived next door to my Grandpa and Grandma. Always a great, loving man. You are at peace now.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Joann and the rest of Vaughn's family at this difficult time. I spent a lot of time with Joan and Vaughn as a child and Vaughn was a wonderful man. He and my grandpa Mckellar were great friends. He will be truly missed.
