Alexander Torre Obituary

Alexander Louis Torre Alexander Louis Torre passed away on Tuesday August 18, 2015. He was 98 years old. He resided at Bloom at Hilton Head, and was under the care of St Luke Missionary hospice at the time of his death. He was born on June 20, 1917 in West Hoboken, NJ to John and Mary. He is predeceased by his brothers Joseph and Armand. He married Michelina (Mickey) Calleo on June 27, 1943 in Union City, NJ and they recently celebrated their 72 wedding anniversary. He received an associate degree from Pace University and was employed by Wm. Spencer & son Corp. for 48 years, becoming President and then Chairman. He and his wife retired to Surf City, NJ in 1982 where they entertained many friends and family, then to Hilton Head Island, SC in 2010. He was an avid bowler and golfer and frequently attended NY Yankee and NY Giants games. He belonged to Saint Francis by the Sea Catholic Church on Hilton Head Island. He is survived by his wife Mickey, sons Robert (Patricia), and John (Marie) and their two children Kathleen and John. There will be afuneral mass on Wednesday, August 26 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Rutherford, NJ at 10:30 am. With burial following at Madonna Cemetery in Fort Lee, NJ. Memorial donations may be made to Saint Luke Missionary Hospice, 149 Riverwalk Blvd. Suite 6, Ridgeland, SC, 29936. Theislandfuneralhome.com.
