Cecile, Erika, Lore,
I am just finding out about Carl passing. I don´t get the Beaufort news without my dad!
I was crazy about your generous husband and Dad!! He was always enthused about and supportive of our crazy love of riding. He made it all the more fun to be on the beach at Lands End riding or doing pony Club or shows with his effervescent smile.
He will be missed! I celebrate his life!

We first met Carl and Cecile when I was at the Citadel soon to be a 2nd LT headed for Vietnam and Kathy, my wife soon to be, who was teaching at Laurel Bay Elementary with and a friend of Cecile. We were dating and gladly offered/exchanged baby sitting duties on the occasional weekend for/with 'little' Erika and Lore [unbelievably beautiful kids at the time and as adults now!!!! :)))) ] ... to have an opportunity to enjoy their Lands End Plantation and it's incredible peace and solitude. Carl and Cecile had just purchased the property and we had numerous occasions to enjoy their friendship and hospitality. All four of them attended our wedding which was very special for us as they had to come a significant distance. Carl was a neat guy and he always wanted to talk cars... with me a young college guy, who could barely afford payments on a inexpensive '67 Mustang when he had had Porsches. Loved him then and them now. Tears here.
