Christopher Meany Obituary

Christopher T. Meany Christopher T. Meany passed away on November 16, 2009, at the age of 81. Born December 9, 1928 to Irish immigrants, Eileen O'Loughlin Meany and Denis Meany. He was the most beloved husband of Joan D. Meany. He is survived by his dearly beloved children. Linda (Bruce) Cloutier, Kevin (Shari), Brian (Susan), Joanne (David Peterson). Chris also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, his sister Ann Dwyer of Queens, NY and a brother, Martin, who predeceased him. Chris grew up in New York City. After attending Cardinal Hayes High School he was conferred a BBA from City Colleges. Chris is a graduate of Harvard University's Advanced Management Program. In 1949 Chris met Joan, and in 1950 they married. They have been married 59 years. Throughout his career Chris served in senior level executive positions with numerous International Corporations. His responsibilities located him around the country and he travelled extensively. Chris is a member of Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church where a Funeral Mass will be held celebrated at 11:00 am, Thursday, November 19. Inurnment will be in the Resurrection Gardens of Saint Gregory the Great. The family requests memorial gifts be made to Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Special Needs Fund, 333 Fording Island Road, Bluffton, SC 29909; The American Lung Association 1941 Savage Road, Suite 2024,Charleston, SC 2940-4789; The American Diabetes Association, 5105 Paulsen St., Suite C236,Savannah, GA 31405 or the charity of your choice. Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton, SC is assisting the family with their arrangements. (www.saulsfh.com)
