Evan Abrams Obituary
September 15, 1941 - September 7, 2021
Port Royal, South Carolina - Evan Abrams left this world into the embrace of God peacefully and surrounded by his family on September 7, 2021, after a long illness. He was born in McKeesport, Pa., on September 15, 1941, the middle child of Jane and Dave Abrams. He graduated from Elizabeth Forward High School and Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. "A" taught art in the Clarkstown, NY School District for 35 years. He shared his gifts of creating art with everyone and was a true artist in the classroom, studio, garden and kitchen. Evan was always a gatherer of friends and family and lived a full life of great joy with love and kindness. As he would say, "I love life."
He is survived by his loving wife, Jane, sons Shawn (Lusan) and Evan Jr.; grandchildren Reid and Alexandra; sister, Jane (Ben), and nephew, Adam; sister-in-law Nance (Greg) and his beloved extended family Carolyn and Ian Leslie, and his amazing 'Huckleberries,' Isaac, Aaron and Hannah Grace.
Evan was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Drew.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for their loving, faith-filled care over the past months.
A memorial service will be held at Waters Edge United Methodist Church at 3 p.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2021. A broadcast of the service will be made available on the church's Facebook page: facebook.com/watersedgesc
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Waters Edge UMC.
