Just found out about this today. Very sad to hear about his passing. Only wish I had known earlier so I could have gone to the services.

When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. May that wonderful treasure fill your heart with love and bring you a measure of peace. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I was surprised and saddened to hear of Gary's passing. He was a good friend to my husband, Spence and me. We enjoyed going to dinners with him and Gerri. He was a kind man and and we enjoyed spending time with him. To the family, I am so sorry for your loss, but know that he was well respected and will be missed.

I was shocked to hear of my friend's passing. I know he is in a better place free from aches, pains, and sickness. My condolences to his family. We were life time friends, high school, band, Navy Finance, and a few trips to the islands. I will greatly miss him. He was a good man.

Gary was a great person. I knew him in Cleveland and later when I tansferred to Virginia to work for the government. He was always there for me when I needed help....never complained. He gave me a lot of good advice when I moved to the D.C. area. We car pooled together and took Christopher along to go to the day care center at HUD where Gary worked. He was a great cook and I loved his cold cucumber soup! He loved hot peppers...the hotter the better. He would eat them with his friends and see who could eat the most! I will truly miss him. He was a great friend and a great parent who did a fantastic job in raising Christopher by himself. I will truly miss him even though we haven't seen much of each other since I retired some 20 years ago and moved back to Cleveland. God bless you, Gary Zimmerman. I know you are in a better place and hope you will save a place for me!
I remember at his father's funeral when the pastor said about his father..."his mind was working fine but the house that his mind lived in could not survive any longer." I think of this often as "my house" has all its aches and pains of old age. Sorry for my rambling!

Gary will be missed. He was a very accomplished sax player and a very good friend. When he played the sax he played with soul. The most accomplished musician in our band. My condolences to his family.
