Helen Sibley Obituary

Helen Sibley, 87, of Hilton Head Island, SC died peacefully at home on September 11, 2025, after a long battle with dementia. Her family would like to thank the care teams at Cypress Home Health and Crescent Hospice for the in-home care that she received.

She was born on November 1, 1937, in Leominster, MA to Gladys (Holbrook) and Ray E. Blood. She was the youngest of six children. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ronald K. Sibley of Hilton Head Island, SC, her daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Mark Boyer of Marietta, GA and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Ray E. Blood, Jr., Ralph B. Blood and Kenneth H. Blood, sisters Marjorie Page and Elizabeth (Betty) Tarbell and niece Donna Gumpert.

Helen graduated from Fitchburg (MA) High School in 1954 and Becker College in Worcester, MA in 1956. She and her husband lived in Portland, CT and Jupiter, FL before retiring to Hilton Head Island in 1993.

She was an avid tennis player and played regularly into her 70s. In addition, she loved traveling, music, animals and birds. She could often be found by the picture window in the family room looking across the lagoon with her binoculars and meticulously recording the dates and times of various bird sightings in her journal. She enjoyed attending local Hilton Head music and theater productions.

Helen and Ron moved to The Cypress of Hilton Head in 2011. She was very involved in the community, serving on the Regime Board and Welcoming Committee in addition to participating in many activities and events.

Arrangements for a memorial service will be announced at a future date.

Gifts in Helen's memory may be made to: Crescent Hospice, Art Center of Coastal Carolina or Hilton Head Chamber Music Institute.
