Holly Jenkins Obituary

Holly Jenkins
December 18, 1953 - July 4, 2023
Hilton Head Island, South Carolina - Holly Maynard Jenkins
December 18, 1953 - July 4, 2023
Hilton Head Island and the Spanish Wells Community mourns the loss of Holly Maynard Jenkins. Born on December 18, 1953, Holly was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, a dear sister, a loyal friend, and a proud dog mom.
Holly's joyful spirit was evident to all who met her. Her warm smile and radiant eyes welcomed strangers as friends. Hilton Head Island had been her home for nearly 35 years and she embraced the community with open arms.
Beyond her role as a dedicated caregiver for her family, Holly had many passions. She loved traveling, thrifting, and serving her community. Her love for travel allowed her to explore the world, collecting precious mementos along the way, which she proudly displayed in her home for all to admire. Alongside her mother, Gloria Mann Maynard and sister, Meredith Maynard Chase, she co-authored the cookbook, "Caterin' to Charleston," which brought her recognition locally and internationally.
Holly had a seemingly effortless talent for creating unforgettable experiences. It did not matter if it was a school party, a dinner for the high-level executives or the Spanish Wells Annual 4th of July parade and picnic, each was amazingly executed. Her home was always beautifully adorned with festive decorations that brightened the neighborhood and brought joy to all. Her "over-the-top décor" was a testament to her vibrant personality and generosity.
She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Justin Jenkins, her sister Meredith Chase, her sons Brett and John Jenkins, her daughter-in-law, Amy Evenhouse, and her grandchildren Finn and Isla Jenkins. Holly's legacy will forever live on in our hearts. Her impact on the community will not be forgotten. Her absence leaves a void in our lives, but her love and spirit will forever guide us. May she rest in eternal peace as we hold her close in our hearts.
In memory of Holly, donations may be made to The Litter Box, 46 Old Wild Horse Rd, HHI, SC 29926. Private funeral services will be held for the immediate family. Friends and family will be invited to attend a celebration of her life at a date yet to be determined.
"With gentle eyes and a loving soul, you brightened our lives and made us whole."

Dear Jenkins Family,
Although I did not know Holly personally, I was encouraged with her resolve and faithfulness to not only be a member of our society but also her passion for history and family as evidenced by her service. She is missed of course by your family but also our society. You all are in our thoughts and prayers. If we can be of any assistance please let us know. Blessings, Sam Massey, 2023-2025 National Chaplain, The Huguenot Society Founders of Manakin Colony in Virginia huguenotmanakin.org

Words are inadequate in expressing the sorry of this tragedy. Holly was such a wonderful human being and the very best of Hilton Head Island. The most loving, caring and thoughtful Mom, wife and friend. Certainly enjoyed my time with her. Praying for her beautiful family.

This article is absolutely perfect in every way about Holly. We met Holly in 1999when we came to HHCA. She treated us like family from day one. Holly was the most authentic person I´ve ever met. She was loving and caring and she went above and beyond in everything she did. I hold so many memories with her that I will cherish forever. There wasn´t anything she couldn´t do and she was always willing to help in anyway she could. Praying comfort for this precious family and a peace that can only come from our Heavenly Father. Holly will be missed!

This articles says it all. Holly was all of this and more! She welcomed us to HHCA from 1999-2004. We immediately felt like her family and she was a very dear friend. Our prayers go out to the the entire family and our hearts hurt over this loss. She will greatly be missed!
