CAROLE POMPEII

Carole Pompeii, aged 88, of North Olmstead died on Thursday morning, March 27th, 2026, at home with her family. She was born August 28, 1938 in Cleveland OH, the daughter of the late Thomas and Evelen O'Malley.

Carole grew up in Lakewood, OH, attended Villa Maria High School, and Ursuline College. She completed her degree in Business at Monroe College in 1986 after raising five children as a homemaker. After college she followed her passion for interior decorating and founded Classical Trimmings, a small company and storefront that created unique home décor products. She retired in 2001 and spent her time travelling throughout the west and Europe. She met and sang for Pope John Paul with her church choir, and her winters were spent with her husband and family in Hilton Head Island.

She was loved by all who knew her. She was passionate about cooking, singing, travelling, shopping at QVC, and mostly about her family. Christmases were a special time for her, and her Christmas Eve dinners were legendary. She was a force of nature and the matriarch of her family in every respect. She loved her book club and was an active member of the Artists Way community. She and her husband Jack spent many years cooking for Monday Night Meals at St. Malachi's church in Cleveland.

Carole was preceded in death by her two siblings Kathleen Hoole, and Thomas O'Malley; her daughter-in-law Karen Pompeii; and her grandchild Sean Pompeii. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, John Pompeii; five children John (Yolanda) Pompeii, Mark (Francis) Pompeii, Matthew Pompeii, Thomas Pompeii (Sherrie Gardner), and Lisa (Eric) Pompeii-Williams; 11 grandchildren: Amber, Jack, Justin, Tyler, Sarah, Tony, Bryan, Everett, Camile Celeste, Sophia, and 8 great grandchildren: Francis, Hattie, Maximus, Luca, Robin, Celene, Alice, Anya.

Calling hours will be held at Berry McGreevy Funeral on Thursday, April 2nd from 10am-12pm with a memorial service to follow from 12-1pm. Berry-McGreevey Funeral Home is located at 26691 Detroit Rd., Westlake, OH 44145
