Jupiter, Florida - Jane Beattie passed away peacefully on November 12, 2022. She was 90 years old. Jane was a loving wife, mother of three grandmother of five and great-grandmother of one.
Jane was born and raised in New York City. She attended the Chapin School and then went to Briarcliff Junior College to further her studies.
In New York City, Jane was very involved in the Church, The Blue Hill Troupe and tennis, which she played competitively, until she was 75 years old. Jane lit up the room with her warm, friendly and sincere personality.
She moved to Westchester County in 1972 where she became very involved in the community, volunteering and working at a local hospital. Jane loved tap dancing, as well as continuing her passion, playing tennis. Jane also had a catering business called "The Perfect Party" which she ran with a friend. Jane's Westchester home was always open to her children and grandchildren. Many, many days and weeks were spent there enjoying her company.
She and her late husband, Charles Robert Beattie,Jr., (passed away in 2008) moved to Hilton Head South Carolina in 2000, where they loved their new surroundings, with opportunities to meet many new friends, continue with tennis, sing in the local church choir and volunteer at several organizations.
She enjoyed traveling with family and friends.
Jane was always the happiest when her family was around and their Hilton Head home was always a vacation spot for her children, spouses, grandchildren and their friends. Jane was always a wonderful example to her family. She was proud, strong and loving. We were blessed to have her with us all of these years. She will be missed but her bright spirit will live in our hearts forever. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
