John Michael Corbett M.D.

John Michael Corbett, MD AIKEN, SC JOHN MICHAEL CORBETT, MD, 79, beloved husband of Nancy Schreiner Corbett, died Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at his residence in Aiken, SC. A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Dr. Corbett was a son of the late John Oliver and Dorothy Milkovich Corbett. He graduated from Brown University where he was a member of Delta Phi Fraternity. He earned his MD from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia, PA and was a member of Phi Chi Fraternity. Dr. Corbett served his residency at the Cleveland Clinic. He was an orthopedic surgeon in New Castle, PA for many years. He was considered the "pioneer" in joint replacement in Lawrence County, PA, introducing the technology in 1971. His professional memberships included the Pennsylvania Medical Society, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Eastern Orthopedic Association. He was a member of New Castle Country Club. After retirement he moved to the coast of South Carolina and lived on Spring Island before moving to Aiken, SC in 2010. Survivors, in addition to his wife Nancy, include a daughter, Susan Lynn Corbett (Martin Hammar), Logan, OH; a son, John Foster Corbett (Kathi), Columbia, SC; four grandchildren, Melissa Jean Mahar, Frazier James Peluso, Charlie Montgomery Peluso, John Henry Corbett; two great-grandchildren, Joseph Michael Gallegos, Emilia Lynn Gallegos; two sisters, Lynn Corbett Lindh, Grove City, PA and Barbara Corbett Raber, Pittsburgh, PA.
