Bluffton, South Carolina - Karl Joseph Deblitz, 79, of Bluffton, SC, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 16, 2024. Born on July 11, 1945, Karl was known for his magnetic personality, quick wit, and wide circle of friends. He was a charmer; he commanded the room and tended to make an immediate and lasting impact on those he met. He was fiercely loyal to those that he loved, particularly to his family, of which he was incredibly proud.

Karl grew up in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, and earned his degree with a ROTC scholarship from Ripon College, where he played basketball and, most importantly, met Tanya, the love of his life and mother to their four children. Shortly after college, he served honorably in the Army. Karl began his professional career with Procter and Gamble before venturing into the food brokerage business, eventually becoming a partner with Becton/Deblitz and then with Fitzwater. After an early retirement he was able to enjoy his true passions of playing golf, obsessing over the Green Bay Packers, traveling with Tanya and friends, watching golf, yelling at the Green Bay Packers, and spending time with his beloved family, his ever-growing circle of friends and all of his many grand dogs.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Tanya Blair Deblitz; children, Kory Deblitz Eubank (Jeff Mathis), Brian David Deblitz (Allison), Jason Blair Deblitz (Megan), and Paige Deblitz Whitney (Abbott); grandchildren, Ryan, Luke, Olivia, Morgan, Molly, Bradley, Zach, Jackson, McKinley, Penelope, and Celia; and his brother, David Deblitz (Lis). Karl was preceded in death by his parents, Marie and Elmer Deblitz.

A celebration of Karl's life will be held at Belfair in Bluffton, SC on November 16, 2024. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to All-In to Fight Cancer at allintofightcancer.org. Karl's larger than life presence will be forever cherished and missed by all who knew him.
