I am just seeing this now and wanted to send my condolences to the family, and add how instrumental Mrs. Petkov was in my development as a 3rd grade student back in 1968. It was her love and belief in me as a young African American boy which propelled me to excel academically and is in part responsible for the academic/professional success that my kids are experiencing currently. I was the first in my family to enter and complete college and receive other advanced degrees. Thank you Mrs. Petkov. Rest in peace.

I will always remember your kindness in welcoming Eric and I to the Indigo Run community. You included us in your Thanksgiving celebration that year and made us feel so at home. We were brand new to the community and otherwise would be alone for the holiday.
Rest in peace dear lady!

I thank you, Linda Petkov, for all the love you gave the students and my sister Helen McKeither, your teacher assistant, at L. P. Hill Elementary School. We will always remember your kindness.
