Rev. Ralph Holley Riddle

Rev. Ralph Holley Riddle Beaufort, SC Rev. Ralph Holley Riddle passed away at Beaufort Memorial Hospital in Beaufort, SC on May 17, 2009. He was born on January 4, 1938 in Leesville, SC. He was the son of the late Alvin Drayton Riddle and Ollie Holley Riddle. Survivors includes his wife, Rosalyn "Rosie" Godshall Riddle of the home and a son, Richard Scott Riddle of Lancaster, SC, a brother, Paul Riddle and his wife Elaine of Leesville, and a sister, Doris Riddle Hite and her husband, Charlie of Batesburg, SC. He was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Riddle Hall and three brothers, Glenn Riddle, Ray Riddle, and Joe Riddle. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Mary Riddle of Leesville and Helen Riddle of Walterboro, brother-in-law Ed Godshall and his wife of Atlanta and numerous nieces and nephews. Rev. Riddle graduated from Hollywood High School, Newberry College and Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary. He was a Chaplain in the SC National Guard. He served as pastor of Augsburg Lutheran Church in Union, SC; St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Whitmire, SC; St. John's Lutheran Church in Beaufort, SC; Reformation Lutheran Church in Lancaster, SC; Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church in Peak, SC; and Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Chapin, SC. He was a active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Beaufort and volunteered with delivering Senior Meals. He was a long-time member of IPTAY and a strong supporter of Clemson Tiger athletics. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 19, 2990 from 6-8pm at Anderson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 2:00pm in St. John's Lutheran Church with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Anderson Funeral Home is serving the family.
