Robert Lacombe Obituary
July 9, 1936 - May 26, 2025
Pooler , Georgia - Robert "Bob" Leon Lacombe, Sr., 88, of Bluffton, SC, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025, after a long illness. Born on July 9, 1936, in Massena, NY, Bob was a man of independence, entrepreneurism, and adventure.
A talented engineer, Bob ultimately found his true home in the South Carolina Lowcountry. He proudly owned and operated Lacombe Builders and Air Savannah, pursuing his deep passion for aviation as a charter pilot and flight instructor. When not in the air, Bob enjoyed travel and reading Civil War history. He cherished spending summers camping in the Blue Ridge Mountains and going on cruises with his beloved wife, Alyne, who passed in 2022 after 65 years of marriage.
A mass to celebrate Bob's life will be held at St. Andrews Catholic Chapel in Bluffton on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., with his grandson, Father Paul Lacombe, officiating. A reception will follow at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. All are welcome.

I knew Bob LaCombe when he was a customer at the airport on Hilton Head. He was very friendly, easy to deal with, and paid his bill as soon as he got it. I haven´t seen or heard anything from him since the 1990´s but I know he´ll be missed by his family and friends. I didn´t know that his wife had died but now they´re together again! Praise the Lord!
