Sandra Patterson Obituary
August 21, 1937 - October 18, 2024
Beaufort, South Carolina - Sandra Carol Patterson (Bunch) was born August 21, 1937 to Ruth and William Edward Bunch. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael G. Patterson and her brother James Bunch. She is survived by her children: Rebecca Campbell (Richard), Pamela Bars (Michael) and Michael T. Patterson (Susan) and grandchildren Scott Campbell (Catherine), Bradley Campbell, Jessica Ritter, Bryan Bars (Kaylyn), Michael J. Bars (Cherie), Aidan Patterson and six great grandchildren.
Sandra (Sandy) was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother but her greatest joy was singing. She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Beaufort's Choir, as well as many other choirs and choral groups throughout her life. When she was younger, she also participated in community theater,
She attended Ohio Wesleyan University where she met her husband. She later got a degree in Library Science. She worked at Oakland Schools in Michigan in the Braille and Large Print Library for many years. She also worked for Historic Beaufort Foundation as head of the Verdier House, which she loved. Nothing gave her more happiness then recounting the history of that landmark.
She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews as well as her friends.
Sandy's Memorial Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Beaufort at 10:00 am Friday, October 25th, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Historic Beaufort Foundation (Verdier House) or First Presbyterian Church of Beaufort (Choir).
